20 YEARS SINCE BIGGIE's Passing ...

"You never thought that hip hop would take it this far" those lyrics sang by Biggie Smalls in his track "Juicy" impacted me in a great way. This was the first Hip-Hop track I listened to and back then my English wasn't that good at all, but I remembered what I felt.. it felt good, his vibe, his flow got to me.

This track was released in 1994... all I could say is that 17 years later, that same kid that heard the track "Juicy" and fell in love with Hip-Hop is now the man who launched Saudi's FIRST & ONLY FM Hip-Hop radio show promoting the true essence of Hip-Hop as a culture and supporting local talent on the radio... BLESSED 

May Biggie's soul rest in power. I can't believe that he had that much impact with ONLY 2 STUDIO ALBUMS "Ready to Die (1994) & Life After Death (1997)". He was only 24 years. Biggie is gone but NEVER FORGOTTEN. The ONLY king of NEW YOUR

Netflix has announced the premiere date for its music-driven 1970s-set drama series, "The Get Down," from Baz Luhrmann.

The series will be released in 2 parts; the first half will debut on Friday, August 12, 2016, and will unfold over 6 episodes. Dates on the second half will be announced later.

"The Get Down" will follow a rag-tag crew of South Bronx teenagers in a broken down and beaten up, violent New York City at the brink of bankruptcy, which gave birth to hip-hop, punk and disco – a story told through the lives and music of the South Bronx kids who changed the city, and the world… forever.

Meeting Legendary Radio Hosts Stretch & Bobbito | Sole DXB 2015

I been a huge fan of the Stretch and Bobbito show for quite some time. I loved their story. I loved their passion. I love the fact that they hosted artists just to support & expose talent. From 1990 till 1998, they hosted The Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito show in WKCR. It featured exclusive demo tapes and in-studio freestyles from many then-unsigned Hip-Hop artists such as Nas, Big Pun, Jay-Z, Busta, Fat Joe, DMZ, Wu-Tang Clan, Talib Kweli, Big L & The Notorious B.I.G who later found great success on major record labels! 

In 1998, The Source names The Stretch & Bobbito Show as the "Best Hip-Hop Radio Show of All time". For me, it was an honor connecting with them, watching their amazing documentary. You Can watch the Trailer HERE 

Being the host of Saudi's first & only FM Hip-Hop radio show is very difficult & challenging given that I had to go & still going through a lot to make the show done on a weekly basis. By meeting them, I felt re-energized, re-focused. 

Big up to Sole DXB & Cinema Akil for this amazing accomplishment. It was Stretch & Bobbito's firs time to the Middle-East & I one was very proud to meet them.

I am currently working on having the documentary screening in KSA. :) #FingerCrossed it works!
