When I found out that Lisa Leone will be in Dubai showcasing her "iconic" pictures of some of the legends in Hip-Hop... I just went crazy and approached the fam at SOLE who were the ones that got her to Dubai for an interview and they hooked it up.

FILM SCREENING | STRETCH AND BOBBITO: RADIO THAT CHANGED LIVES

I truly can't believe that I will be screening "Stretch And Bobbito" Radio that changed lives" ;I had the honor of meeting them in Dubai couple of months ago. 

It will be screened in JEDDAH (my hometown) for a very private & special audience. I wanted to rappers to see this film and see the hard work & dedication Stretch & Bobbito put in their work. 

During the 1990s, Stretch and Bobbito introduced the world to an unsigned Nas, Biggie, Wu-Tang, and Big Pun as well as an unknown Jay-Z, Eminem, and the Fugees. The total record sales for all the artists that premiered on their radio show exceed 300 million. 

The late night program had a cult following in the art/fashion world and prison population as well. All would loyally tune in for the humor just as much for the exclusive tunes. Stretch and Bobbito brought a unique audience together, and created a platform that changed music forever.

Meeting Legendary Radio Hosts Stretch & Bobbito | Sole DXB 2015

I been a huge fan of the Stretch and Bobbito show for quite some time. I loved their story. I loved their passion. I love the fact that they hosted artists just to support & expose talent. From 1990 till 1998, they hosted The Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito show in WKCR. It featured exclusive demo tapes and in-studio freestyles from many then-unsigned Hip-Hop artists such as Nas, Big Pun, Jay-Z, Busta, Fat Joe, DMZ, Wu-Tang Clan, Talib Kweli, Big L & The Notorious B.I.G who later found great success on major record labels! 

In 1998, The Source names The Stretch & Bobbito Show as the "Best Hip-Hop Radio Show of All time". For me, it was an honor connecting with them, watching their amazing documentary. You Can watch the Trailer HERE 

Being the host of Saudi's first & only FM Hip-Hop radio show is very difficult & challenging given that I had to go & still going through a lot to make the show done on a weekly basis. By meeting them, I felt re-energized, re-focused. 

Big up to Sole DXB & Cinema Akil for this amazing accomplishment. It was Stretch & Bobbito's firs time to the Middle-East & I one was very proud to meet them.

I am currently working on having the documentary screening in KSA. :) #FingerCrossed it works!
